R2EP
Timeline Overview
-
Event: October
Typically held in October, Chapters organize an annual Run to End Poverty (R2EP) to raise funds for their chapter in a fun, healthy, and active manner. R2EP is a Canada-wide movement that aims to bring people together with a common goal: to eliminate extreme poverty in rural Africa. Funds raised go directly to chapters’ operations, including sending fellows to work with our ventures and partners in Sub-Saharan Africa, supporting African entrepreneurs through the Kumvana Fellowship and their visit to chapters, and for delegate fees at conference and other chapter expenses. Some chapters direct these funds to EWB to support ventures and local entrepreneurs in sub-Saharan Africa. These events are a real opportunity to raise awareness and understanding of ID in Canada.
